Well at least one good thing happened today…my last class was cancelled. I am so glad that I got out early…now I can go and pick the boys up from Bo. I hated leaving him with the boys for so long…not that Bo can’t handle them, I know he can. Well Bo isn’t expecting me until 10:30...and it is only 8pm. I guess I will head on over to the Pub for some famous Brady chowder.
I walk into the Pub and I see Bo and Christian running around like chickens with their heads cut off. They are running around looking for something. “Hey how are two of my favorite men?” Christian runs over to me and jumps into my arms. “Mimi…Uncle Bo is in trouble!” I eye him questionably, “Why is uncle Bo in trouble Chris?” “He…” Christian was about to answer me when Bo came over to us and clamped his hand over Christians mouth. “Kids…they have such big mouths…don’t they!” Bo scooped Christian out of my arms and set him on the floor, “Christian do me a favor and go see if grandma need help in the kitchen.” Christian was about to protest Bo’s request when I noticed Bo give him a warning look, and Christian took off running. I have a bad feeling about this. “Bo…what it going on?” Bo laughed nervously, “Well…you see…here’s the thing…umm…” Bo was cut off by Abe running threw the front door of the Pub. “Bo…there is no sign of John anywhere…I checked…” Abe stopped speaking when he looked up and saw me standing there. “Oh…umm…hi Marlena.” I looked back and forth between Bo and Abe waiting for one of them to start talking. Neither one of them is saying anything, so what ever has happened I know it is bad. “Will one of you say something?” Still neither one of them would speak. “Bo! Abe said John was missing…why would your friend John be missing? I thought that you were spending the evening with him?” Bo takes a deep breath, he grabs my hand and leads me over to a booth to sit down. “Sis listen…my friend John…isn’t the ‘John’ that is missing. Our nephew John is. I…” I am hysterical at this point. “WHAT HAPPENED! Where is he…what…” Bo put his hands on my shoulders trying to calm me down. After a few more minutes I calmed down enough to let him speak. “Mar listen to me…please! He must have left about a half hour ago. We were all here at the Pub, me the boys and my friend John. John and I were talking to Pop… Christian was playing with the jukebox and Johnny was sitting in a booth doing his homework. The next thing I knew…I turned around and he was gone.” It felt as though my heart sunk in my chest. I walk over behind the bar and get myself a glass of water. As I drink it…I look around and begin thinking about what to do. “Bo…where is John…I mean your friend John?” I start to get nervous, “So help me god…Bo if that man has done…something to our nephew…” Bo raised his hands and cut me off. “Sis…calm down! I told you my friend was with me when Johnny disappeared. Besides…he would never hurt anyone…especially a child.” I stand there starring at Bo not reassured by his words. “Well then…where is ‘your friend’ Bo? If he isn’t involved in our nephews disappearance…then where the HELL is he?” I start crying loud heavy sobs. Bo walks over to me and takes me in his arms. “Sis…please calm down. John went to look for Johnny. He thought that I should stay here...with Christian.” Bo pulled back from me and wiped the tears from my eyes, “Marlena…you can’t go through life distrusting every new person you met.” I back away from him. “I have no reason to trust your ‘friend’ Bo.” Bo looks at me and shakes his head. “That is the problem Mar…the only people you do trust are Mom, Pop, me, Hope Abe and Lexi! You know…the world is a lot bigger than just the six of us!” I let out a huge sigh in frustration. “Arghhh…Bo I don’t have time right now to analyze my trust issues okay!” I walk around the pub looking as though there might be a clue as to where Johnny ran off too. My eyes fall upon the Bar. I’m not sure what it is…but something looks different. I keep staring at it… and then it hits me. “Bo…where are the roses that were sitting on the Bar earlier? The vase is there…but the roses are gone.” Bo looks at me like I have lost my mind. “Umm…I’m not really sure. Why does it matter right now?” I sit there starring running over today’s events in my head. After a few moments I figure it out. I jump around to face Bo. “Bo what is today?” I sit there and stare at him while he ponders the question. He thinks for a moment and then looks at me and nods, as we both speak in unison, “Father’s Day!” We ask Caroline to watch Chris as we run out the door together.
