Sami stood there staring at her mother for the longest time. Marlena just stared at her daughter, holding herself back from the urge to grab her and hold her close to her heart and never let go. Marlena inched closer to Sami, as she knew that Sami was overwhelmed at the sight of her “dead” mother! Marlena tentatively reached her hand out to stroke Sami’s face, when she saw that Sami didn’t back away, Marlena’s slender hand made contact with Sami’s tear soaked cheek. Marlena smiled, “Oh…my Sami girl!” Sami let out a huge sob and leapt into her mothers arms, “Oh mommy! It’s true…it’s true you really are alive!” Marlena stood there rocking her sobbing daughter in her arms, “It’s true honey…I am back… and I’m not going anywhere!”
Marlena, Sami and Belle sat there talking for a while. Marlena got Sami up to speed with everything that happened while being held hostage at the castle! Sami sat there and tried not to ask to many questions, because she didn’t feel like being drilled on her recent behavior. However it isn’t in Sami’s nature to sit there and be totally silent, and she couldn’t stop herself from asking her next question, “Mom…why are you here…and not with dad?” Marlena looked at her with a puzzled look, “Because Sami…I thought it would be a little crowed in the hotel room with me, Roman and Kate!” Belle laughed at her mothers comment, but Sami stared at her mother with an un-amused look, “Mom! Come on you know what I mean!” Marlena let out a heavy sigh, “Yes Sami I know exactly what you mean…and you can forget it! I haven’t seen you in what…two years almost! And after all that time you are STILL stuck on something that is NEVER going to happen.” Sami looked down at the ground with a wounded expression, to which Belle rolled her eyes. Marlena sat next to Sami and lifted her chin so their eyes meet, “Sami…honey you know that a part of me will always love your father. But we are not IN love. We will never be together the way you want. And the sooner you except that the better off you’ll be!” Sami angrily wiped her eyes and rose from the sofa, “Fine I get it okay!” Sami paced around the room, when she suddenly stopped, “Well then, tell me this! Why are you here at Belle’s loft, and not with John…the love of your life?” Sami finished in a snide tone. Marlena looked away and Sami got a evil smile on her face, “What…trouble in paradise?” Belle rose from her seat, “Sami…shut up! You know you haven’t seen mom in years and the first thing you do is try to upset her.” Sami looked at Belle with that ‘Who Me’ look that Sami always gets when she is hiding something, “Gosh Belle I just asked a simple question. “ Belle shook her head, “Simple question my ass Sami. You just want to cause trouble… as always!” “You know Belle why don’t you worry about yourself instead of bothering your self with my motives. Don’t you have a husband… and a boyfriend in the middle of a war zone? Seems to me that you have enough problems of your own.” Belle looked at Sami with shock, “You’re a fine one to talk SAMI! Why don’t you think about your own love life instead of grilling mom or me about ours. Why don’t you fill mom in on how you slept with Brandon the night before your wedding to Lucas?” The girls kept bickering back and forth with each other for what seemed like hours. Marlena sat there rubbing her temples feeling her good mood from earlier quickly fading away, as her daughter kept bitching back and forth, “Belle… you know that Kate set me up…” “ENOUGH!” Marlena yelled! Both girls stopped immediately and looked at their mother. Marlena looked at them with tears in her eyes. “Do you two have any idea how much it hurts me to see you fighting like this…do you?” Both girls look at each other and then back at their mother. They went and sat down beside their mother, Sami rubbing her hand over Marlena’s back, “I’m sorry mom. I don’t want to upset you…but I would like to know why you are here… and not at home! What’s wrong?” Marlena sighed heavily, “Nothing is wrong Sami! John and I just need some time… to figure out what we want.” Sami looked honestly confused, “I’m sorry, maybe I am being dense here but…what is there to work out?” Sami looked to Marlena who rolled her eyes at the question. Then Sami looked to Belle, who was staring wide eyed at her. Sami nodded her head in understanding, “Oh I see…Kate!” Sami said in disgust! Sami stood up and started to pace the room, “Urggg I can’t STAND that woman…she is such a…such a…” Marlena looked at her, “Such a WHAT Sami?” Sami and Belle looked at each other and spoke in unison, “BITCH!” Marlena looked at her daughters in shock, “Isabella! Samantha!” Belle shook her head, “Sorry mom…but this is one thing that Sami and I are in TOTAL agreement on. Kate has changed since you have been gone. She has been all over dad like a cheap suit. Personally I think she used his grief over you to her advantage, and moved in on him like a vulture circling it’s prey!” Marlena looked at Belle with sadness in her eyes at the mention of John and Kate together. Sami took that moment to chime in, “Not to mention the fact that she set me up, to make Lucas think that I slept with Brandon!” Belle interrupted her, “ Actually THAT hasn’t been proven yet.” Sami looked at Belle with hurt in her eyes, “Why is it that no one EVER believes me?” Belle let out a small laugh, “I can’t BELIEVE that you can ask that question with a straight face!” Sami was about to rip into Belle when Marlena interrupted, “Okay stop! Before you two started arguing Belle and I were about to go to lunch… why don’t we do that! Before I totally lose my appetite.” Sami let out a laugh, “ I know what you mean mom…when ever anyone mentions Kate’s name I instantly feel like upchucking!.” Sami started to laugh as did Belle, Marlena didn’ t seem amused, “SAMANTHA!” Sami and Belle continued to laugh. As they walked to the door Belle spoke in between her laughter, “Now come on mom… you have to admit THAT was a good one.” Belle finished as she slapped Sami a high five. Marlena looked at her girls and began to laugh with them. “Okay…so it was funny.” Marlena wrapped her arms around both of her daughters shoulders as they all laughed, while walking out the door. Marlena began to laugh harder, “It was damn funny!”
